Broken Bones
Broken bones (fractures) can be managed in many ways. Some fractures need an operation and others can be managed with plaster casts, braces and other appliances. Even though X-rays can diagnose many fractures sometimes X-rays are not enough and other investigations such as MRI or CT scans should be done.
Ligament, muscle and soft tissue injuries can cause long-term effects and need to be managed correctly. Unfortunately these are not clearly shown in X-rays, hence an initial orthopaedic evaluation plays a key role in assessment for therapy.
